SafeGuard product portfolio cryptography libraries meet FIPS 140-2 Level 4 Certification

October 18, 2007: Certification was granted for the SafeGuard CryptographicEngine, the cryptographic library of the SafeGuard product portfolio. The validated cryptographic library will continue to support the cryptographic standard in forthcoming SafeGuard solutions, thereby ensuring that as new features or modules are added to the product suite, certification status based on the core technology remains.

CryptoServer® meets FIPS 140-2 Level 4 Certification

July 31, 2007: CryptoServer is certified in accordance to the security standard FIPS 140-2, Level 3, and Level 4 in the area of "Physical Security". As with SafeGuard Easy, FIPS certification allows CryptoServer to be implemented in highly security-sensitive environments such as multinational banks, financial institutions as well as government agencies.

FIPS 140-2 is one of the world’s leading and most rigorous security standards, and the benchmark used by many governmental organizations and companies to select strong IT security solutions. FIPS certification now enables SafeGuard Easy to be implemented in highly security-sensitive environments. This certification is highly regarded among multinational banks, financial institutions as well as government agencies.

SafeGuard Easy certified by the German Federal Office for Information Security

SafeGuard Easy has been certified by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security), in accordance with Evaluation Assurance Level 3 (EAL3). SafeGuard Easy was evaluated at an accredited and licensed/approved evaluation facility using the Common Methodology Criteria for IT Security Evaluation, Part 1 Version 0.6, Part 2 Version 1.0 for conformance to the Common Criteria for IT Security Evaluation, Version 2.1 (ISO/IEC 15046:1999) and including final interpretations for compliance with Common Criteria Version 2.2 and Common Methodology Part 2, Version 2.2. This certification level of "medium" is the highest award that can be given to a purely software solution.

CryptoServer certified by the German central credit committee.

Utimaco has extended its hardware security module (HSM) portfolio with CryptoServer CS50. The new generation of Utimaco‘s hardware security module is approved by the German central credit committee (ZKA). The ZKA certificate is the security standard for the financial industries in Germany.

Safeguard® Easy has been awarded the BITS Tested Mark, by BITS, a nonprofit, CEO-driven industry consortium whose members are 100 of the largest financial institutions in the United States. BITS was formed by the CEOs of these institutions to serve as the strategic “brain trust” for the financial services industry in the e-commerce, risk management, payments and technology arenas. The BITS Product Certification Program tests technology products used to deliver financial services at unbiased and professional facilities against minimum-security criteria established by the financial services industry. BITS-Certified products have been certified by BITS to meet these security criteria.

Utimaco Technology awarded Best of CeBit 2005 CeBIT 2005 by Teletalk

Utimaco was awarded the "Best of CeBIT Award 2005" at CeBIT by the magazine TeleTalk. The award was given to the Transaction Security division of Utimaco for its SignatureServer SmartCard for SAP. Using this innovative solution companies can automatically add digital signatures to electronic invoices that have been created directly in SAP systems and then encrypt them. In this way, for the first time, legally compliant electronic invoices can be created and processed efficiently within a legally compliant, structured digital workflow. The deciding factor in giving the award in the category Call center and CRM solutions was that companies were not only able to reduce costs considerably through this process optimization, but also to improve the service quality for their business partners, and so increase customer loyalty.
